June 10, 2015 - (More photos) First responders were honored with an Appreciation Luncheon on Friday, June 5, 2015 hosted by Center Independent School District and the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce.
The meal was a buffet of brisket, chicken, sausage, baked beans, and potato salad prepared by Pete Low. Portacool, a sponsor for the event, provided those attending with a cap and a tactical flashlight. Sponsoring the event were Specter, Inc., Portacool, and McAdams Propane.
First responders including police officers, department of public safety officers, constables, Sheriff deputies, firemen, medics, Game Wardens and law enforcement officials were the honored guests. The appreciation lunch recognized the contribution and personal sacrifice first responders makes to the community.
