August Lunch, Learn to Feature Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital

August 18, 2022 - The Chamber of Commerce Health Care Committee is hosting the August Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, August 24th at noon at the AgriLife Extension Office. The guest speaker for August will be Amelia Commander, Director of Business Development for Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.

Amelia Commander has deep roots in East Texas and with Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. Ms. Commander was born and raised in Nacogdoches, graduating from Nacogdoches High School. Amelia’s first job at Nacogdoches Memorial was as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. She worked with two local pulmonologists before transitioning into sales. In November 2021, she returned to Nacogdoches Memorial and the new Lion Star Group to serve as the hospital’s Director of Business Development.

Amelia wears many hats in her role with the hospital such as recruitment, public relations and community involvement. But the most important role for her is the one where she is helping to create better experiences for every person who chooses Nacogdoches Memorial hospital. As she says, “we want to treat everyone as if we are treating our loved ones – from the time they walk through our doors until they leave.” Amelia is also very active in the community. She and her husband Mathew have 3 children and a very spoiled dog, Zoie.

At the Lunch and Learn, Amelia Commander will be talking about the new ownership and all the many positives changes at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. She will also answer any questions regarding Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital and services offered.

The Lunch and Learns are open to everyone. Lunch is provided. Please RSVP to 598-7744 or to 598-3682. For information contact the Chamber offices at 598-3682 or email info@shelbycountychamber.com.
