September 17, 2026 - The 50th East Texas Poultry Festival announces the Business Poultry Decorating Contest. The contest gives businesses an opportunity to join the 50th Annual Poultry Festival spirit. All businesses in Shelby County are invited to decorate store fronts and windows in any poultry and decades theme.

September 16, 2026 - The 50th Annual Poultry Festival Quilt Show, sponsored by Scull Timber is your opportunity to showcase your own quilting skills or grandmother’s heirloom quilt.

Wall hangings/crafts/needlework are a part of the Creative Arts division, rather than the Quilt Show division.

Entry form, fee and quilt drop off will be the week of September 18 – September 25, 2026 at the Agri-Life Extension/4H Office at 266 Nacogdoches Street. Deadline for drop-off will be September 25th at 3pm.

September 16, 2026 - Only 15 days left until the 50th Annual East Texas Poultry Festival, Sponsored by Farmers State Bank, opens its gates to a weekend of Fun, Entertainment, Arts and Crafts and lots of Food back on the downtown square!

The Cutting of the Feathers will be held on Thursday, October 1st at 10am on the Frances Oates Center Stage! We are looking forward to having the school children back on stage to sing.

September 9, 2026 - The 50th Annual East Texas Poultry Festival will be featuring local Creative Arts through the annual Creative Arts Show, sponsored by Doches Credit Union. Don’t miss this opportunity to show your handiwork in art, quilting, canning, crafts, woodworking and metal art.

September 3, 2026 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce its annual 5K Chicken Trot, sponsored by Cline Family Medicine, scheduled for October 3rd at 8am at Portacool Park.
