Shred Day on Downtown Square Today

May 15, 2026 - The mobile Shredding Unit will be available on the downtown square today from 10am – 2pm. Community members are invited to bring documents that need to be shredded.

The Shred services are provided free to the public as a service of the Shelby County Beautiful Clean program of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and our generous Sponsors:

May 11, 2026 - Shred Day is scheduled for this Friday, May 15th from 10am until 2pm. The Shredding truck will be on the downtown square in front of the Chamber offices.

Beaner's BBQ Hosting New Business Ribbon Cutting May 19

May 7, 2026 - The smell of slow-smoked brisket is about to become a staple in Tenaha, Texas as Beaner’s BBQ officially open its doors at 118 N. Bowers Street.

Please join Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and Jody and Juan Garza, owners of Beaner’s BBQ, at a New Business Ribbon Cutting on Tuesday, May 19th at 11am. The community is invited to attend, to celebrate, meet the team and sample delicious food.

Shelby County Chamber Presents 2026 Teacher Appreciation

April 27, 2026 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Teacher Appreciation reception will be held Wednesday, May 6th at the Windham Civic Center in Center at 4:30 p.m. The reception is held annually to salute and recognize the dedicated administrations and teaching staff of all the Shelby County school districts. Each campus Teacher of the Year will be recognized by his or her Principal and receive a Certificate of Recognition. The Shelby County Teacher of the Year for Elementary and Secondary schools will also be announced.

Grill Fest, Presented by Farmers State Bank This Weekend!

April 22, 2026 - Cook teams from Texas and Louisiana will be competing for prize money this weekend at the Annual Grill Fest Presented by Farmers State Bank at the Windham Civic Center. Cooking starts Friday evening along with the 42 Tournament and Washer Pitching Tournament. Friday night is also Karaoke Night 8-10pm. The Margarita and “Open” Food Competition will be held Friday night 7:00 and 7:30 respectively.

Judging takes place on Saturday starting with the Bloody Mary competition at 10am. There is still time to enter!

Washer Pitching Tournament, 42 Tournament at Grill Fest

April 20, 2026 - Start getting ready for the 42 Tournament and the Washer Pitching Tournament this Friday, both Sponsored by Shelby Savings Bank.

The two events will be held on Friday evening, April 24th as a part of the Grill Fest weekend. Registration for the 42 Tournament begins at 5:30pm and the Tournament begins at 6pm. Registration fee is $10 per person/$20 per team. Winning team takes the jackpot prize.

The Washer Pitching Tournament will begin at 7pm. It is $10 per person to participate and the winning team takes the jackpot prize.
