Cline Family Medicine Presents Annual Community Wellness Fair

June 10, 2024 - Planning is well underway for the Annual Community Wellness Fair, Presented by Cline Family Medicine. The Community Wellness Fair will be held Friday, August 9th from 9:00am until 2:00pm at the Windham Civic Center. The Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting applications for vendors. Santa’s Christmas Parade Committee Announces “A North Pole Fantasy” Theme

June 10, 2024 - Plans are underway for the 2024 Santa’s Christmas Parade which will be held on Saturday, December 7th beginning at 6:00pm. The Parade is presented by High Roller Wells. The theme for this year’s parade is “A North Pole Fantasy.” Silver Sponsors are Farmers State Bank, Holiday Nursing and Rehabilitation and Specter, Inc.

Wellness Wednesday - April Prince, Attorney Estate Planning

May 21, 2024 - April Prince, Attorney will be this month’s Wellness Wednesday speaker, on May 29, 2024 at noon at the Extension Office located at 266 Nacogdoches Street. April Prince will go over basic estate planning documents and planning for incapacity as well as estate planning for heirs with special needs or disabilities.

48th East Texas Poultry Festival Creative Arts Show Committee Seeking Participants

May 14, 2024 - The 48th Annual East Texas Poultry Festival, presented by Farmers State Bank, is right around the corner – October 3, 4 and 5. Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your creative side in art, quilting, canning, crafts, woodworking, metal art, photography, and baking.

All creative art divisions and are open to Youth (6th through 12th grades) and Adults (17 and older). The art division will also be open to Elementary (K – through 5th).

48th Annual East Texas Poultry Festival Seeks Arts, Crafts Vendors

May 13, 2024 - Planning is underway for the 48th East Texas Poultry Festival, presented by Farmers State Bank. The Poultry Festival will be held October 3-5th on the historic downtown Center square. Arts and Crafts vendor applications are being accepted at the Shelby County Chamber office until Friday, September 13th. To receive an application and a copy of the guidelines call the Chamber office or go online at www.shelbycountychamber.com.

Shred Day on Downtown Center Square

May 6, 2024 - Shred Day is scheduled for this Friday, May 10th from 10am until 2pm. The Shredding truck will be on the downtown square in front of the Chamber offices.

The Shredding service is provided free to the public as a service of the Shelby County Beautiful Clean program of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and our generous Presenting Sponsor, Republic Services and our generous Gold Sponsor, Farmers State Bank.

Community members are invited to bring documents that need to be shredded.

Shelby County Chamber Presents Teacher Appreciation

May 3, 2024 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Teacher Appreciation reception will be held Wednesday, May 8th at the Windham Civic Center in Center at 4:30pm. The reception is held annually to salute and recognize the dedicated administrations and teaching staff of all the Shelby County school districts. Each campus Teacher of the Year will be recognized by his or her Principal and receive a Certificate of Recognition.

Rotary Club, Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library Celebrate Renovation with Ribbon Cutting

April 17, 2024 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Ribbon Cutting to celebrate with the Rotary Club of Center the new renovation of the Redditt Room of the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library on Tuesday, April 30th at 12 noon.

The Rotary Club of Center utilized a Rotary District 5910 grant to remove the stage and replace the carpet in the Redditt Room where children activities are often held along with other adult community programs and meetings.

HOPE Community Medicine to Speak at April's Wellness Wednesday

April 17, 2024 - Mike Belgard. PA-C and CEO of HOPE Community Medicine will be the guest speaker at the April Wellness Wednesday, April 24th at noon at the AgriLife Extension Office. He will discuss new treatments and technology available for Diabetes and Hypertension (Blood Pressure).

Mike will also talk about the availability of low cost medications and the expansion of medical service for our rural population via their Mobile Clinic.
