March 24, 2023 - The Career Connect Job Fair was true to it's name as it brought nearly 200 attendees and over 30 employers and community partners together. WorkForce Solutions Deep East Texas sponsored the event.
Keith Duncan, event organizer and Business Engagement Representative with WorkForce Solutions, shared, "Over 30 employers, both local and from as far away as Beaumont, Houston, and Huntsville, came and represented businesses and employment opportunities. A third of the attendees were current job seekers and the other two-thirds were high school seniors soon to enter the workforce. I truly appreciate all of the efforts from Center, Tenaha, and Joaquin High Schools in bringing seniors to the event."
Current job seekers were able to fill out applications at the event along with learning about additional free job services available to them to help them in their employment search.
Last but not least, Duncan thanks those who truly made the event a success - Business Services Representatives from various WorkForce Solutions offices in Deep East Texas. Because they came, the event ran smoothly which made it a great success for all attending.
