CENTER, Texas (May 10, 2016) - For years, a 3 acre tract on Tenaha Street went undeveloped largely because of insufficient utility infrastructure. A new Chicken Express restaurant now occupies this space with a second adjoining lot available for commercial development.
"The Center Economic Development Corporation was approached with the concept of helping extend a waste-water line which will allow for further commercial development on this important thoroughfare," explained Center City Manager Chad Nehring. "The EDC is allowed to engage in targeted infrastructure projects to assist retail investment."
The EDC Board agreed to reimburse the developer up to $15,000 for the installation of the waste-water line.
