Center Fire Department Fights House Fire on CR 1443

April 7, 2022 - Center Fire Department firefighters fought a house fire at a residence on CR 1443 Tuesday, April 5, 2022.

According to Center Fire Chief Keith Byndom, the fire department received a call at 9pm, regarding a house fire located on the 600 block of CR 1443 and when they arrived at the scene of the fire they found heavy flames emitting from one end of the house involved.

Entry was made into the home and the origin of the fire was discovered to be coming from the area of a water heater and electrical panel located in the home. The fire spread into the attic of the residence; however fire fighters were able to extinguish the flames in the attic, and prevent further spread.

The fire caused major damage in a bedroom and that end of the home.

One resident received minor injuries when an electrical service line fell while evacuating children from the home. The resident didn't request an ambulance and the children were unharmed.

Fire department personnel returned to the station at 12:10am.
