Center Fire Department Visits with Area Students for Fire Prevention Week

October 24, 2019 - The Center Fire Department recently visited with students from area schools for Fire Prevention Week.

Students from F.L. Moffett Primary School were bused to the fire department, and then the firemen visited Shelbyville ISD, Center Intermediate School, Center Christian Academy, and Crayon Box Child Care Center. 

Center Fire Chief Keith Byndom and other firemen such as Derrick Lightfoot, and Glenn Johnson who went over basic fire safety with the students. Firemen also dressed in bunker gear to demonstrate for the students what they would look like should they enter the students home during a fire.

Following the demonstration, and to their excitement, students were then able to view fire trucks and witness water being sprayed from the department ladder truck.
