Center Garden Club Wins Top Honors at Texas Garden Clubs Convention

March 18, 2016 - Center Garden Club took top honors at the District III - Texas Garden Clubs Spring Convention by winning 31 awards.

With the theme "Follow the Monarchs through Paris," 67 members represented 25 District III Texas Garden Clubs for the March 16-17 event at the Country Club in Paris, Texas.

"The Butterfly Lady" Leslie Lange, who operates the Fluttering B. Butterfly Ranch in Colleyville, Texas where she raises and releases Monarchs, Painted Ladies, and Gulf Fritillaries, presented the program on present dangers to butterflies and ways to protect them in our environment.  Members were given Milkweed seeds (which are essential for the survival of the Monarchs) to plant in their own gardens.
