May 23, 2019 - Center High School introduces the graduating class of 2019 and announces the valedictorian of the Class of 2019 to be Scarlett V. Shires and the salutatorian to be Brisa J. Guevara. Center High School Graduation will be held at the Roughrider Stadium on Friday, May 24, at 8 p.m.
Scarlett Shires is the daughter of Sarah and Stephen Shires. She will be attending the University of Texas at Austin and will major in Computer Science.
Shires' achievements and honors are: A Honor Roll (9-12); National Honor Society (11-12); Anime Club (10-12) Historian (10) President (11-12); Cultural Exploration Club (11-12); UIL Academics (9-12); UIL Science Regional Individual Qualifier (11-12); UIL Computer Science Regional Team and Individual Qualifier (12); Varsity Band (9-12); Solo and Ensemble Medalist (10-11); Voted Most Likely to Succeed by Peers (12); Graduate with 42 College Credit Hours
Brisa Guevara is the daughter of Cristina Olalde and Jose Guevara. She will be attending the University of Wisconsin to major in foriegn language (Japanese/Spanish) to pursue a career as an interpreter/translator.
Guevara's achievements and honors are: Varsity Band (9-12); Teacher's Outstanding Student Award (9-12); A Honor Roll (9-12); Anime Club Vice President (11-12); National Honor Society (12); UIL Academics (12); Graduate with 32 College Credit Hours.
