Center HS, MS Twirlers Recognized for Multiple Accomplishments

December 11, 2017 - On October 26th, 2017, the Center High School twirlers traveled to Lufkin High School to compete in the UIL Region 21 Twirling Solo and Ensemble Contest. Each twirler had prepared either a solo or an ensemble to perform for the judges.  Twirlers earning a first division on their solo were: Kayden Davis, Selena Jaimes, Mallory Sims, Holly Wilburn, and Raylee Wilburn.  Students earning a first division on their ensemble were Maria Alvarado, Kayden Davis, Maria Alvarado, Jackie Gonzalez, Abby Cooper, Mallory Sims, Selena Jaimes, and Holly Wilburn. Thirteen first divisions were earned at this competition.

On November 28th, 2017, the Middle School and High School twirlers traveled to Kilgore College to compete in the Vicki Bowden Mobbs Twirling Classic. This competition has many categories and opportunities for placing. 

The Middle School twirlers are Nicole Aguilar, Imari Bell, Dulce Chavez, Christina Hernandez, Adrianna Hines, Alexia Pineda, Sara Scull (Head Twirler), and Sierra Sherman. They competed in two categories earning 6th place in Dance Twirl and 4th place in Multiple Baton. They also earned the “Outstanding Costume” and “Outstanding Presentation” awards for their superior toe points, smiles, and free hands. The High School Twirlers are Maria Alvarado, Madison Bowlin, JaLee Campbell, Abby Cooper, Kayden Davis, Oderay Figueroa, Jackie Gonzalez, Brooklyn Ikner, Selena Jaimes, Mallory Sims (Head Twirler), Holly Wilburn, and Raylee Wilburn. They competed in three categories earning 3rd place in Dance Twirl, 4th place in Multiple Baton, and 1st place in Show. 

They also earned the “Outstanding Costume” and “Outstanding Presentation” awards for their attention to toe points, free hands, and smiles.
