January 27, 2016 - Center Intermediate 4th and 5th grade competed in UIL Academics in Carthage Saturday, January 23, 2016. It was a very competitive district meet with Henderson, Carthage, Rusk and Tatum participating. Center Intermediate ended up placing 2nd overall.

Fourth grade
- Art team placed first. The team is composed of Aung Lay Khaing (2nd place), Macey McSwain (3rd place), Trevor Lester, Rosalyn Wright and Coby Lout with Coach Danielle Emmerling.
- Chess Puzzle team placed second with members Damien Horton (4th place), Allison Hale, Ryker Tomlin and Coach Kris Rash.
- Music Memory team includes Jalen Postell, Trace Lester, Heather Cassell, Denisse Caraveo and Audrianna Jones with Coach Vicki Baggett. The team placed third over all.
- Number Sense team members are Ryker Tomlin, Lance Wilburn and Sayre Hall. The team coach is Debra Hippler.
- Oral Reading team includes Julie Bird, Brannon Deby and Gracie Burch with Coach Penny Bird.
- Ready Writing team includes Esmerai Hernandez (5th place), Allison Hale and Jason Archibar with Coach Luciana Barr.
- Spelling team includes Kate Galvan, Riley Whaley and DeBraylon Moore with Coach Melissa Munoz.
Fifth grade
- Art team also placed first. Team members are Andrea Horton (1st place), Leticia Balladares (3rd place), Dulce Alvarado (4th place), Nathali Abella (5th place) and Stephanie Garcia (6th place) and Coach Danielle Emmerling.
- Social Studies team placed first with Connor McCauley (1st place), Hope Gorkhali (2nd place) and Alaisia Garrett with Coach Baliee Rash.
- Listening team competed with Tucker Scarber (2nd place), Ethan McElroy (5th place) and TJ Bolton with Coach Patty Davis. The team placed second.
- Spelling team competed with Anayeli Martinez (4th place), Alberto Lopez and Emilie Rojas with Coach Melissa Munoz. They placed second over all.
- Chess Puzzle team placed third with members Eric Allen (4th place), Jordan McSwain and Monty Mullin with Coach Kris Rash.
- Maps, Graphs and Charts team placed third with Xander Fountain (3rd place), Connor Henson and TJ Bolton. The team is coached by Ciara O'Rear.
- Music Memory team also placed third. Their team members are Brianna Hardy (2nd place), Andrea Horton, Lissa Campos, Dulce Urioslequi and Jacoban Pruitt with Coach Vicki Baggett.
- Dictionary Skills team includes Jordan McSwain (5th place), Lesly Figueroa (6th place) and Juan Lopez with Coach Jody Franks.
- Number Sense team competed with Hagan Craig (3rd place), Ler Moo (4th place) and Eric Allen with Coach Jody Franks.
- Oral Reading team members are Garrett Mettauer (6th place), Carly Gray and Ja'Marian Evans with Coach Penny Bird.
- Ready Writing team competed with Arista Lee (1st place), Hope Gorkhali (5th place) and Alaisia Garrett with Coach Luciana Barr.
