Center ISD Board Receives Construction Report

The Center ISD Board of Trustees met on Thursday, July 16, 2020 and were given updated information regarding ongoing construction to school property. 

Danny Berry, Berry and Clay Construction, reported, "Over at F.L. Moffett on remodel, I know a couple of you have been over there recently, we're still working diligently on that. They're working right now, the big push is to get the floors done down the corridors and stuff, and we're doing the whole area at one time. He said he can do it faster like that, so that's what, we just left there a while ago they're working on that right now," said Berry.

Berry elaborated on flooring work still ongoing at different locations and cabinets which have been installed 

"By the time the teachers get here we're going to still lack some stuff on the outside, and we don't think we'll be through with the gym inside, we'll be pretty much still be working on it but I don't know if, we'll be through with the coaches office that's there beside it but I don't know that we'll be through with the inside of the gym yet."

Dr. Brian Morris, Superintendent, asked how much additional time it will take to complete the gym. 

"I think it might take another two weeks or something like that," said Berry.

Berry then gave an update on the Middle School.

"The Middle School we've got the building going now, we've got the rough dirt work done. They just got the dirt patched yesterday, the sub-grade because it was a wet spot in there so we had to dig out a couple of feet, about a 15-by-30 take that dirt out, bring new dirt in. The lab was there and they tested that and it passed, so they're putting, they'll be bringing slick fill in,"

Berry said they would be bidding on the rest of the school by next Thursday, July 23, 2020.

"As far as the colliseum, I'm thinking that they're planning on, they were going to have the plans out to us. They're redoing those right now, the changes have been made," said Berry.

He explained drawings are being completed and will help to get a lot better pricing.

The meeting then moved into closed session at 12:13pm

Following closed session, no action was taken, and the meeting was adjourned at 1:28pm.
