December 9, 2015 - On Tuesday, December 8, 2015, Rotary members brought toys to their noon luncheon meeting to donate to Santa Rides a Motorcycle. Ed Roberts was at the meeting to accept the toys.

Roberts is a founding member of the toy drive which was started by the East Texas Ramblers in 1980 and that first year they delivered 325 bags of toys. When the East Texas Ramblers disbanded, Roberts kept it going with the help of his family. He opens his home each year to all the toys which are donated until they are distributed to families in the county. The toys fill up his home and for the last several years a trailer has been brought in to help with the overflow of donations.

This is the 35th year for Santa Rides a Motorcycle. It has delivered toys every year to hundreds of families with the biggest year in 2002 when they delivered 902 bags to families. The toy drive is possible because of all the support from the community and special volunteers who help with the deliveries.
