The performance precedes district contest scheduled for Thursday, March 24 at 1:00 pm at Panola College.
March 1, 2016 - In preparation for contest, the CHS Theatre Department presents its 2016 One-Act Play "The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild" on Thursday, March 10 at 6:30 pm. The forty minute play will be preceded by an excellent scene from the Theatre I classes as a "curtain opener."
"Mildred Wild" is a fun romp through a week with Roy and Mildred Wild as they struggle to get out of a bad financial situation: their candy store is about to be torn down and they have to relocate. Neither are excited about leaving, but Mildred particularly has trouble embracing reality. When she is stressed, she retreats to her "movie fantasy world" where everything works out for the best. The audience is along for the ride as the Wilds move back and forth between Hollywood fantasy and real world hardship. The result is a zany but heart-warming story with lots of memorable characters rushing in and out of this Wild world.
Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for students. All proceeds go to the Center UIL Academic Team. The show is rated PG-mild for adult situations and references and mild, story-appropriate language. Audiences 10 and up are encouraged to attend.
