City of Center's November 4th General Election, Constitutional Amendments

October 14, 2025 - The City of Center's November 4th General Election is for three races: Mayor; Council Member, District 1; and Council Member, District 3.

  • Candidate for Mayor is incumbent, David Chadwick.
  • Candidates for Council Member, District 1 are Joyce L. Johnson and Delbert Jackson.
  • Candidate for Council Member, District 3 is Howell Howard.

Below is a resolution by the City of Center for the Joint Election.

A resolution of the City Council of the City of Center, Texas, approving a contract for elections services between elections administrator of Shelby County, Texas and the City of Center, Texas, for the November 4, 2025, General Election for Center, Texas.

WHEREAS, the City of Center has called a general election for Tuesday, November 4, 2025; and,

WHEREAS, Shelby County has called an election for Tuesday, November 4, 2025; and,

WHEREAS, state law allows local governments holding elections on the same day to do so jointly, thereby making voting more convenient: and,

WHEREAS, the Shelby County Elections Administrator will provide all election services for the City; and,

WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize an agreement in accordance with Section 271.002 of the Texas Election Code, whereby the City and County agree to hold a joint election on November 4, 2025.

Now, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Center, Texas:

1. The November 4, 2025 General Election for the City of Center be held jointly with Shelby County.
2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with the County Elections Administrator of Shelby County for Election Services attached hereto as Exhibit A.
3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
