April 15, 2021 - Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the governing body of the City of Timpson will be held on the 20th day of April, 2021 at 5:30 pm at Timpson City Hall, 456 Jacob Street, Timpson, Texas, at which time the following subjects will be considered, to-wit:
1. Call to Order.
2. Invocation.
3. Pledge: United States Pledge, Texas Pledge
4. Council Items: Reports by the members of the City Council on matters not on the agenda will be made at this time. A total, not to exceed 10 minutes will be devoted to these reports.
5. Presentations & Recognitions/ Chamber of Commerce notices: City of Timpson supported the Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center by contributing $511.84 to the agency which was from the Child Safety Fee Fund tax return.
6. Citizens Input: This time is provided for members of the public to address the City Council on items that appear within the Consent and Action Items or a matter not listed on the agenda. Each speaker is limited to 3 minutes. A Citizens Input Form may be filled out and filed with the City Secretary prior to the meeting.

D. City Secretary: Update on the City garage, we’ve received quotes from Mac Samford Roofing for $17,500 and waiting on another from H&H Steel Buildings. The City has received a check from TML for $5,555.62, which is their estimated cost for repairs minus the $5,000 deductible and will send a supplemental check for the difference once the garage has been repaired.
8. Consent Agenda: Items included under the Consent Agenda require little or no deliberation by the Council. Approval of the Consent Agenda authorizes the City Secretary to proceed with the conclusion of each item as reflected in the Minutes of this meeting.

9. Discuss and take action: Discuss and take action to amend the 2020/2021 General Budget due to the RIF and closure of the Timpson Police Dept.
10. Discuss and take action: Discuss and take action to approve Resolution 20210420-09 determining that an area of the City contains conditions which are detrimental to the public health, safety, and welfare of the community and constitutes a blighted area.
11. Discuss and take action: Discuss and possibly take action to obtain City animal control: the process, sheltering of, and fees.
12. Discuss and take action: Discuss and take action to amend existing animal control Ordinance No. 113 after reviewing with Cary Bovey and Shelby County to ensure the City is within legal rights to do so.
13. Discuss and take action: Discuss and take action to approve the resignation of Jaylin Rhodes, effective April 29, 2021 and advertise the open position, accepting applications to review at the May 18th Council Meeting.
14. Adjourn.
The Council reserves the right to retire into executive session concerning any of the items listed on this agenda whenever it is considered necessary and is legally justified under the Open Meetings Act.
