Connell to Discuss Small Business Success, Challenges at TAGHS Meeting

September 5, 2023 - Robin Gibson Connell will speak to Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society Wednesday, September 20, at 2pm in the Timpson Public Library annex. She will share her successes and challenges as a successful business owner in small towns.

Robin Gibson Connell really needs no introduction in our area. If you are one of the few people who do not know her, she moved to Timpson in 1979 at the age of 19 and opened the original Quick Stop. She has two kids, Kyle and Amy Allen, both graduates of Timpson and SFA and TAMU, respectively.

Kyle joined the business in 2010, helping build the Joaquin store, which opened in 2011. He and his wife, Tisha, have four kids and two grandkids. Before going out on his own in 2022, the Carthage store was added to the business in 2019.

Amy, along with her husband and two kids, moved to Center in 2022 to work for Robin, helping with the Tenaha store, their fourth store, which will be opening soon.

Robin and husband, Duncan Connell, live on a farm on Farm-to-Market 415, where she enjoys watching the varied and abundant wildlife on her pond. Robin also enjoys growing flowers and traveling. Although she still works most days, Robin likes spending time with her grandchildren, including Duncan's son, Devan, his wife, and his children in Omaha.

As always, we appreciate your help publicizing our meeting.
