April 21, 2020 - Shelby County Commissioners approved the appointment of Dr. Florencio Singson, MD as the Shelby County Local Health Authority on April 15, 2020.
Department of State Health Services contacted Judge Allison Harbison on the need for there to be a designated Shelby County Local Health Authority.
Dr. Florencio Singson has been designated that for several years. Due to an oversight, Judge Harbison explained the appointment ran out.
In response to this request Judge Harbison appointed Dr. Singson and a motion carried to accept his appointment as the Local Health Authority.
The commissioners spoke at length about the permits for McClelland Water Supply, and a motion carried to table the item until Shelby County Attorney Gary Rholes and Ken Muckleroy could speak on the issue.
A motion carried to table a request for proposals until the best course of action could be determined and to give time to put the necessary paperwork together.
Agenda items approved during the meeting include: 1. Pay weekly expenses. 2. Current payroll. 3. Appointment of Florencio Singson as Shelby County Local Health Authority. 4. Adjourn. Agenda items tabled during the meeting include: 1. Permits for McClelland Water Supply. 2. Authorization to issue requests for proposals for Administrative services (RFPs) and requests for qualifications for Engineering services (RFQs) related to the 2020 Texas County Transportation Infrastructure (CTIF) administered by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
