David’s Daily Devotion for April 7

April 7, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, April 7.

Our topic today? Taking the time to see what's right in front of us.

I’m a planner. I like to think about the future, set goals, prepare for tomorrow. But, sometimes, we can be so absorbed with what’s next, that we miss what’s happening now. We fail to see what’s right in front of us. And we miss out on a tremendous blessing.

Springtime is a perfect picture of this idea. Right now, God is painting our world with all of His colors. He’s painting the red of the azaleas, the purple of the wisteria, the blue of the bluebonnets. And a few weeks from now, all these colors will be gone - poof! If we don’t take time to see them now, to see what’s right in front of us, we’ll miss this blessing from God.

This is an idea that we can apply to every aspect of our lives. We can take the time to see what we have and be thankful, instead of always wanting more. We can offer bouquets of appreciation to friends, instead of waiting to send flowers when they're gone. We can take the time to count our blessings.

It’s easy - they’re right in front of us!

Meet you back here tomorrow,
