David’s Daily Devotion for Dec. 30

December 30, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, December 30.

As we count down the last days of 2025, and approach the first day of 2026, we continue our short series on the subject of time, and what God has to say about it.

Does the number 525,600 mean anything to you? Well, that’s the number of minutes in a year. But, what can you really accomplish in a minute? There’s the piano piece by Chopin nicknamed “The Minute Waltz”. I can play it, but no matter how much I practice, I can never play it in less than 60 seconds! Let’s focus our attention, then, to another number - 1741. Doesn’t ring any bells? That’s the number of times that the word “day” is used in the Bible. Here’s a few examples -

Psalm 118:24 - This is the DAY that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Matthew 6:11 - Give us this DAY our daily bread.

Psalm 25:5 - Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are my God, my Savior, and my hope is in You all DAY long.

God reminds us, over and over, that our spiritual journey is measured not so much in months or years - but in days. The process of daily going to the Lord for wisdom, for guidance, for forgiveness, is the secret of a strong and long lasting relationship with Him.

I pray God’s blessings over you and yours . . . on this day.

Meet you back here tomorrow,

David
