David’s Daily Devotion for Feb. 2

February 2, 2023 - Good Morning!  It’s Thursday, February 2.

Happy Groundhog Day!  Later this morning, that little varmint, Punxsutawney Phil, will emerge from his burrow, and if he sees his shadow, there’ll be six more weeks of winter.  If he doesn’t, then we’ll have an early spring.  It is, without a doubt, the silliest holiday on the calendar!  So, in the spirit of the day, here’s some silly questions.

*How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?  (364)

*What are you twice as likely to be killed by than a shark?  (a vending machine)

*What does the highway in Lancaster, California do when you drive on it?  (It plays the "William Tell Overture")

*What do Americans, on average, do 22 times a day?  (open the fridge)

*What's on the top floor of the Supreme Court Building?  (a basketball court!)

Do you have some Bible questions?  Here's a few.

*Where did the wives of Cain and Abel come from?

*What happened to the Ark of the Covenant?

*When did Bethlehem really happen?

And then there's this eternal "why" - Why do bad things happen to good people?  And for that matter, why do good things happen to bad people?

Life - even the Christian life - is full of questions.  And sometimes, answers are hard to find.  It comes down, finally, to faith.  And, as the old gospel song reminds us, "we'll understand it better by and by".

Meet you back here tomorrow,

Bro. David
