David’s Daily Devotion for Feb. 28

February 28, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Wednesday, February 28.

We're on the threshold of a new month, my favorite month here in Texas - March. And this year, March not only features the first day of Spring, but also those three great church calendar days - Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter. I'm looking forward to March.

But my focus today is on something else that makes March special here in Texas - wildflowers! Indian paintbrushes, primroses, daisies, Mexican hats, verbena, foxgloves, lantana, wine cups, and, of course, bluebonnets, just to name a few. In just a few weeks, right around that first day of Spring, nature will start to "put on a show for free". But don't put off seeing this show, because it only lasts about six weeks.

Whenever I have the blessing of seeing Texas wildflowers, I am reminded of this verse from the 12th chapter of the Gospel of Luke.

"Consider how the wildflowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even King Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these." Was Jesus just admiring His Father's creation when He said this? The next verse gives us the answer. "If this is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and gone tomorrow, how much more will he clothe you . . . Seek His kingdom, and all these things will be given to you as well."

Hope you get to see the wildflowers this year!

Meet you back here tomorrow,

Bro. David
