David’s Daily Devotion for Jan. 3

January 3, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, January 3.

Does the number 525,600 mean anything to you? Well, that’s the number of minutes in a year. That’s a whole lot of minutes. But what can you really accomplish in a minute? You could play Chopin’s “Minute Waltz”, but no matter how much I practiced I could never finish it in time. So let’s turn our attention to another number - 1741. Doesn’t ring any bells?  Well, that’s the number of times the word “day” or “daily” is found in God’s Word. Here’s just a few examples -

*Psalm 118:24 - This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

*Matthew 6:11 - Give us this day our daily bread.

*2 Corinthians 4:16 - Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

God reminds us, over and over, that our spiritual journey is measured not in months or years (or minutes) - but in days. The process of daily going to the Lord for wisdom, for guidance, for praise, for forgiveness, is the secret of a strong relationship with God.

I pray His blessings over you and yours . . . on this day.

Meet you back here tomorrow,

David
