November 4, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, November 4.
Exactly one hundred years ago - on November 4, 1922 - British archeologist, Howard Carter, opened a tomb in Egypt, the burial place of the pharaoh named Tutankhamen. Carter found over five thousand artifacts, including a solid gold coffin. It remains the greatest archaeological discovery of all time. A tremendous treasure.
King Tut, as he was nicknamed, was a "boy king", ascending to the throne at the age of eight and dead by eighteen. That was 1300 years before the birth of Christ. We know very little about his short life. Six centuries before Tut there was another pharaoh, we're not even sure of his name. But we know that he had a trusted aide whose name was Joseph, and his life is one of the greatest stories of the Old Testament.
Theologians consider Joseph to be a "type" of Christ, a symbol of who and what the Messiah would be. When we learn about Joseph, we gain a clearer understanding of Jesus. That's time well spent. A great discovery. A true treasure.
Meet you back here on Monday,
