David’s Daily Devotion for October 25

October 25, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, October 25.

The great and wise King Solomon was said to have written over 3000 proverbs. We find many of them in the Bible book by that name. Proverbs is one of my favorite books of the Bible - perhaps it’s one of yours. In it we find wise sayings on all sorts of subjects - wealth, poverty, pride, gossip, justice, friends, family, life, death - just to name a few. And these are more than just wise sayings. They are the wisdom of God. Here’s a few proverbs to take you into the weekend.

  • A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.  17:22
  • When words are many, sin is present, but he who holds his tongue is wise.  10:19
  • A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. 15:1
  • The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe.  18:10
  • Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. 14:34
  • There is a way that seems right to man, but in the end it leads to death.   13:12
  • In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.16:9
  • The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 9:10
  • Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path. 3:5-6

Meet you back here on Monday,
