January 29, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, January 29.
I John 5:14 is one of my favorite scripture verses on the subject of prayer. You’ve heard it before - “This is the confidence we have in approaching God; that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” That’s from my favorite translation - the New International Version (NIV). But listen to how it sounds in the New Living Translation - “And we are confident that He hears us, whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him.” Anything that pleases Him!
I believe that the simple act of prayer pleases God. Doesn’t it please you when an old friend reaches out? Doesn’t it bring a smile to your face when you get a Facebook message from someone in your past? Doesn’t it bless your heart when somebody sends you an encouraging email? When you open your mailbox and find a message of love, isn’t that a good day?
Why not take a moment today to reach out to an old friend. They’ll be blessed. Why not take a moment today to pray. You’ll be a blessing to God.
