David's Daily Devotion for January 31

January 31, 2023 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, January 31.

My cat leads a busy and interesting life. There’s the two hours of eating and grooming. There’s the one hour of demanding to either go out or come in. And then there’s the 21 hours of deep sleep that she needs to build up the strength to do it all over again the next day.

She has carefully worked out this schedule and seems quite confident with her choices and priorities. She seems also to have no interest whatsoever in my life, except as it affects hers. Have you heard the stories about the faithful dogs, who, after their master has fallen down dead, refuse to leave his side? I am confident that my cat would remain at my side only long enough to realize that there’s gonna be no more Tender Vittles.

I hope I haven’t offended any cat people with today’s devotion. I’m a cat person myself. Cats have a lot to teach us. Lessons about confident priorities, correct choices, and taking care of ourselves. I would write more, but my cat has just awakened from her long winter’s nap, and needs to go out.

Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
