David's Daily Devotion for June 10

June 10, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, June 10.

We’ve come to the last day of our Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Center. God has blessed with lots of fun and lots of music and crafts and teaching. A focus of the Bible Study classes this week has been the man called David. He was a shepherd, a warrior, a general, a statesman, a diplomat, a musician, a poet . . . a King.

David was born in a little town called Bethlehem, a thousand years before Jesus was born there. Both Matthew and Luke trace Jesus’ family back to David, and 17 times in the New Testament Jesus is called The Son of David. That was another way of saying that He was the Messiah.

David was a man of tremendous accomplishment. David was a man of great sin. David was a “man after God’s own heart”. And in Psalm 51 he wrote, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”

Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
