David's Daily Devotion for June 11

June 11, 2022 - It’s Saturday, June 11.

I had the pleasure of coordinating the music for our Vacation Bible School this past week. Music has always been a big part of the VBS experience. There was music in the Opening Rally each morning and Music Camp each afternoon, and a Music Class for each age group.

A group of young cheerleaders were part of our music team. I can teach the songs, but the motions and choreography are beyond these old bones. The girls did a great job, and on the last day, in Music Class, I asked them to share about themselves with the children.

The teens talked about being involved in at least six extracurricular activities, about school days that stretched to ten hours, about tournament teams that took up extra hours and many weekends. As I listened to these young people, I thought about how they were children in Vacation Bible School when I arrived in Center, just five years ago, and now they were VBS leaders.

Kids grow up fast.  And when they grow up well and strong and trustworthy . . . we thank God.

Meet you back here on Monday,

Bro. David
