David's Daily Devotion for June 15

June 15, 2022 - Good Morning! It's Wednesday, June 15.

Summer has started with a bang and a sizzle here in Center. It looks like we may be in for a long, hot one this year. But this is Texas, after all, so no huge surprise there. Have you heard the joke about the Four Texas Seasons? Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer, and Christmas. Not far from the truth. Growing up in Houston I remember lots of Halloweens when it was too hot to wear a mask or costume trick-or-treating. And Christmases where, after opening our presents, we'd go out in shorts and t-shirts to play basketball.

So, what are the seasons like in the Holy Land? What were the seasons like in Bible Times? In truth, Israel really only has two seasons. Summer (or dry season) begins in about April and continues through October. Then winter (or rainy season) begins in November and continues until... summer! Spring only last about three weeks, and there's no autumn to speak of.

Hey, not that different from Texas!

Ecclesiastes 3:1 - To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.

Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
