David's Daily Devotion for June 2

June 2, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, June 2.

Did you go to Vacation Bible School when you were a kid? I imagine you did. Lots of great memories. The 2022 version of VBS is different, in many ways, from the ones I remember. But some things remain the same.

At my church's VBS, this coming Monday, we'll begin with a 9am opening celebration. And, just like in the old days, we’ll stand and pledge allegiance to the American flag, the Christian flag, and the Bible. I remember singing a special song after each pledge, and the Bible song was always “The B-I-B-L-E”.

O the B-I-B-L-E. Yes, that’s the book for me.
I stand alone on the Word of God. The B-I-B-L-E.

VBS music is different now, and there’s a whole new set of songs each year.  But our focus, our foundation, remains the same. The Word of God.  Each part of VBS - missions, music, crafts, etc.  - features scripture study and memorization. This year’s theme verse is a great one to memorize -

Ephesians 2:10.  We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Meet you back here tomorrow,

Bro. David
