David's Daily Devotion for June 4

June 4, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, June 4.

Today we focus on purpose and position. Do you believe that God has a particular purpose for your life? If so, has He placed you in a particular position to fulfill that purpose? I believe that the Bible would answer both these questions with a resounding “Yes!”, and demonstrates this, time and time again, through the life stories of its characters - characters like the Apostle Paul.

Paul grew up in the home of a Pharisee, and so was steeped in all things Jewish. But Paul grew up, also, in the large Roman city of Tarsus, a center of trade and culture and learning. He, most certainly, would have been fluent in Greek - the language of the educated, Latin - the language of Rome, Hebrew - the language of Judaism, and Aramaic - the common language of Israel. What better person could God have chosen to lead the early church, which was made up primarily of Jews, to take the gospel of Christ to the “uttermost parts of the earth”. And on top of all that, Paul was an ambitious, workaholic genius!

God had a definite purpose for Paul, and put him in a position to fulfill it. If you’re searching for His purpose for your life, perhaps the answer can be found by examining your position - your childhood, your family, your education, your experiences, your contacts, your skills, your talents, your successes, your defeats. I believe that you are unique, and that you have a unique opportunity to serve God in a way that no one else can. Maybe you’ve already “connected all the dots” and are living a purposeful life. God bless you. Maybe you’re still searching for your purpose, or you’re searching for a new purpose for a new chapter in your life. God bless your journey.

Meet you back here tomorrow,
David
