David's Daily Devotion for Mar. 26

March 26, 2022 - It's Saturday, March 26.

March is drawing to a close and it's been a busy month.  It started with Mardi Gras and has included St. Patrick's Day, the first day of spring, and now . . . March Madness!  If you're not a sports fan, that's the college basketball national tournament.  And something just happened that has never happened before.  A 15th seeded team has made it to the "Elite Eight".

St. Peter's University is a little Catholic school in New Jersey.  They have only 2400 students.  At the beginning of the tournament St. Peter's came up against Kentucky University, that has 30,000 students, and the most successful college basketball program in the history of college basketball.  And St. Peter's won!  Nobody saw that coming.

This Sunday (appropriate for a church school), St. Peter's will try to make it to the Final Four.  Standing in their way is North Carolina, a school that has more professors than St. Peter's has students, and also has seven national championships. But, in this David and Goliath scenario, I wouldn't bet against David!  March Madness has reminded us that life is unpredictable and uncertain.  James, the brother of Jesus, reminds us of the same thing (4:14) -

You don't even know what will happen tomorrow!  What is your life?  You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

Life is unpredictable.  God is unchanging.  And He is our strength in uncertain times.

Meet you back here on Monday,

Bro. David
