David's Daily Devotion for March 10

March 10, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, March 10.

Nature’s colors are exploding all around us. The temperature’s rising, and spring is officially just ten days away. But Spring Training is already here - the traditional pre-season of baseball - with teams warming up in the Cactus League (Arizona) and the Grapefruit League (Florida). In March of 1954, the Milwaukee Braves were playing in Bradenton, Florida when their starting left fielder broke his ankle. A rookie was brought in to take his place, and in his first major league at-bat, he hit the ball out of the ballpark. It was a prophetic beginning for Henry Louis Aaron.

Twenty years after that start, in his very first at-bat of the 1974 season, Hank Aaron hit another home run. It was his 714th homer, and tied a record famously set forty years earlier by none other than Babe Ruth. Four days later, Aaron broke that record, a record that sportswriters had said would never, ever be broken. Greatness. And it was greatness that had been evident from the very beginning.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.” John 1

Meet you back here tomorrow,
