David's Daily Devotion for March 14

March 14, 2023 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, March 14.

The colors are exploding. The temperatures are rising. The Earth is coming back to life again. Signs that Spring is just around the corner. Another sign? Baseball's Spring Training has begun! March 14 was the first day of Spring Training in 1954, and in the first inning of the first game, a brand-new player walked to the plate. He was 20 years old, his name was Henry Louis Aaron... and he hit the ball out of the park.

Twenty years later, on April 8,1974, Hank Aaron walked to the plate again, and hit his 715th home run, breaking a record that sportswriters said would never be broken, a record set 40 years before by Babe Ruth. Greatness. And it was greatness that had been evident from the very beginning.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." John 1:1-5

Meet you back here tomorrow,
