David's Daily Devotion for May 18

May 18, 2022 - Good Morning. It’s Wednesday, May 18.

This afternoon I’ll be attending a funeral. A good friend lost his daughter to cancer. And a few years ago he lost his wife to the same cancer. And he faces cancer now himself.  At times in our lives, it seems that we are given more than we can bear. Perhaps you’ve had times like that in your life. Perhaps you’re going through a time like that right now.

We turn to friends. We turn to family. We turn to The Word.

John 16:22 - “Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.”

Psalm 73:26 - “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

Psalm 34:18 - “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

Matthew 11:28 - “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Psalm 23:4 - “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

Philippians 4:7 - “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Meet you back here tomorrow,

Bro. David
