David's Daily Devotion for November 15

November 15, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Wednesday, November 15.

On November 15, 2017, a painting was sold at Christie's Auction House in London. It went for 475 million dollars, the highest price of any artwork in history. The painting, "Salvator Mundi," is a portrait of Christ by Leonardo da Vinci. The buyer was the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, who, the next year, was accused of ordering the assassination of a reporter from The Washington Post newspaper. So now, this rich Muslim murderer owns "The Savior of the World."

We live in a strange world today. A world where possessions are often valued more than people, wealth more than wisdom, things more than truth. You can tell a lot about a person by what they think is important. Checking out what we truly value is a good tool for personal evaluation.

The Savior of the world is available to each of us, literally at our finger tips in this electronic age. Is God's Word a priority in your daily life? Do you truly value His opinion? Here's what the psalm writer had to say -

The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandments of the Lord are pure, enlightening the eyes... in keeping them there is great reward. Psalm 19:7

Meet you back here tomorrow,
