David's Daily Devotion for November 17

November 17, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Friday, November 17.

In Acts 2:42, we get a glimpse of what the Church looked like in the first century. "And they devoted themselves to teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." All of those things will be part of this Sunday night's Shelby County Community Thanksgiving Service, 6pm, at Abundant Life Church.

When the Bible uses the word "fellowship", it almost always refers to our relationship with God. But, in that verse from the book of Acts, we're reminded that the fellowship of believers is vital to our spiritual health. The "gathering of ourselves together" is an essential ingredient for a healthy spirit.

The Shelby County tradition that happens again this Sunday night is a gathering together of many churches, of different denominations, of varied styles of worship and ministry. But, when we gather, we're reminded that we share one thing in common, one essential thing - the saving grace of Jesus.

If you're a local reader, we invite you to join us this Sunday evening. But wherever you are, let this holiday season encourage you to connect with your spiritual family, the Church with a capital C, your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Meet you back here on Monday,
Bro. David
