David's Daily Devotion for November 21

November 21, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Tuesday, November 21.

Tomorrow marks the 60th anniversary of an event that shook the world. There are certain moments in history that linger in our memories. Moments when we remember where we were when we heard the news. For my parent's generation, it was the attack on Pearl Harbor. For my daughter's generation, it was the attack on the Twin Towers. But for my generation, it was November 22, 1963, when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

I was in the second grade on that Friday in 1963. My classroom was housed in a temporary building that was, at that time, referred to as a "shack". Can you imagine that term being used today? A lot has changed in the last 60 years. I remember a student coming in and giving my teacher a note, that she read to my class. And I remember her asking me to take the news to the classroom next door. I'll never forget how that felt.

What will be the next event that shakes the world? When will it come? Where will you be when you hear the news? I'm reminded of a lyric from an old gospel song -

There are things about tomorrow
I can't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know He holds my hand

Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
