David's Daily Devotion for September 10

September 10, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Tuesday, September 10.

Tomorrow at 9am, there will be a brief ceremony in front of our historic courthouse, in the center of Center. A ceremony to remember 911, that morning in September of 2001 when America came under terrorist attack. Hard to believe that it's been 23 years since that dark day.

It seems that every generation has a moment like that. On January 28, 1986, our nation's eyes were on the skies as we watched the Challenger space shuttle explode just 73 seconds after lift-off. On November 22, 1963, Dallas was the focus of the planet as President Kennedy was assassinated. And on December 7, 1941, the American base at Pearl Harbor was ambushed by the Japanese, and we were suddenly at war.

A generation is typically considered to be a span of 20-25 years. There was 22 years between Pearl Harbor and Dallas, 23 between Dallas and Challenger, and it's been 23 years since 911. A sobering thought.

Pray for the future. Remember the past.

Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
