September 19, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, September 19.
Our world is full of senior citizens who are doing their thing and making their mark. Clint Eastwood, 95, is still working as a Hollywood director. Willie Nelson, at 92, continues to make records. Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones turns 82 this year and is planning another tour. And when Donald Trump ends his term, he will set the record for oldest sitting president in U.S. history.
But the award for greatest old age achievement may go to a little lady named Anna Robertson. That name doesn’t ring a bell? Maybe you know her by her nickname - Grandma Moses. She began painting at the tender age of 78, selling her first works for $3. A few years ago one of her works sold for a cool 1.3 million. Not too bad for a late bloomer.
The Bible is full of senior saints who made a difference. The temple priestess, Anna, was over a hundred years old when she met the infant Jesus. Abram was 99 when God changed his name to Abraham, and made him father of a nation. And Noah was a youthful 500 when he began to build the ark.
The lesson here? It’s never too late to be useful, to be a blessing, to find your calling.
Meet you back here on Monday,
David
