Delta Gamma Members Attend State Convention

July 22, 2015 - Four local members attended the Texas State Convention for the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for key women educators. President of Delta Gamma chapter, Fannie Watson along with First Vice President Melba Pahal, Second Vice President Nora Robinson, and state choir member Carolyn Hooker visited beautiful San Antonio, Texas for the 86th Alpha State Convention, June 25-27. The theme was "Expand the Vision". The group attended informational sessions, inspirational dinners, business meetings, and celebratory lunches culminating with a formal banquet on Saturday night.

Our Delta Gamma chapter was awarded many certificates for outstanding programs, services, and works. We were awarded the Annie Award, Webmaster award, Five Star Newsletter, Seal of Merit Newsletter Award, Exemplary Yearbook, Media Award for 'Our Town Times & Timpson and Tenaha News 'and the Presidential Award for Chapter Excellence.

Carolyn Hooker was awarded the coveted Golden Rose award for her many years of service in the organization and in education.

The trip home was spent planning programs and projects for the coming year. All four ladies came back with a new zeal to encourage other members and prepare for a great year in Delta Kappa Gamma.
