April 3, 2024 - The Deep East Texas Council of Governments is soliciting public review and comment on the proposed changes to the Housing Choice Voucher Program Annual PHA Plan, Administrative Plan and Small Area Fair Market Rates (SAFMRs). DETCOG will receive written comments regarding the proposed changes during a 45-day public comment period to commence April 8, 2024, through May 23, 2024.
All written comments are be mailed, or hand delivered, to the following address: Deep East Texas Council of Governments, Attn: Housing Choice Voucher Program, 1405 Kurth Dr, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
Copies of the proposed changes are available on the DETCOG Housing website at www.dethousing.org and are also available at DETCOG’s office located at 1405 Kurth Dr, Lufkin Texas 75904, between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
The Resident Advisory Board discussed the proposed changes to the Annual PHA Plan on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Deep East Texas Council of Governments, 1405 Kurth Drive, Lufkin, TX 75904, and again on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nehemiah Family Life Center, 640 Pollard St, Jasper, TX 75951. Additional Residential Advisory Board meetings will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Deep East Texas Council of Governments, 1405 Kurth Drive, Lufkin, TX 75904, and on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nehemiah Family Life Center, 640 Pollard St, Jasper, TX 75951 to discuss proposed changes to the Administrative Plan and Small Area Fair Market Rates.
The DETCOG Housing Advisory Committee will discuss the proposed changes on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Windham Civic Center, 146 Express Blvd, Center, TX 75935, and again on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nacogdoches County Expo & Civic Center, 3805 NW Stallings Dr, Nacogdoches, TX 75964.
The Board of Directors for the Deep East Texas Council of Governments will meet on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Nacogdoches County Exposition and Civic Center, 3805 NW Stallings Drive, Nacogdoches, Texas 75964, to consider adopting proposed changes to the Annual PHA Plan, Administrative Plan and Small Area Fair Market Rates (SAFMRs) for the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
