Dresses for Dreams Collects Over 100 Dresses, Sponsors Make Fundraiser a Success

February 10, 2016 - The Eta Rho Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi hosted their first annual Dresses for Dreams event on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Center Community House and was a huge success with over 100 formal dresses collected. Dresses collected included ball gowns, cocktail dresses and prom type dresses.

A main feature of the event was an opportunity to win a Louis Vuitton handbag. Congratulations to the lucky winner, Christi Foster.

Christi FosterOn Saturday, March 5, Eta Rho will hold a Dress Sale at the Community House from 10am until 2pm.  All dresses will be sold at reasonable and affordable prices and is open to everyone! A lot of beautiful dresses were collected during the Dresses for Dreams fundraiser. Anyone who will be needing a formal type dress for either Prom or Poultry Festival Queen contest, please come look at the inventory!

Anna Lee, an Eta Rho member, said, "We are very thankful to all of our sponsors. They were a huge part in making this event such a successful fundraiser and Community Service project. " Sponsors for the event were:  Dr and Mrs. Clayton Windham, Boles Feed, The Loft, McAdams Propane, B&W Chipping, Harkness Litter, Shelby Vet Associates, and High Roller Whitetails.

Special recognition goes to The Balcony which is owned by Traci Willoughby. The Balcony offered to donate a brand new formal for a donation of $50 for those who didn't have a formal dress to donate. Other local businesses who helped in making this event a success were Pineywoods Beverage and The Sign Shop.

Members of Eta Rho are: Caroline Hutchins, Sharisse McAdams, Anna Lee, Lacie Payne, Jackie Windham, Alyssa Belrose, Erin Miller, Holly Nichols, Camille Stanfield, Michele Askew, Ginny Bailey, Raegan Best, Lindsey Blackshear, Kristen Chumley, Hannah Collins, Brittany Foster, Jessica Hopkins, Sara Hughes, Callie Jamison, Jenny Lightfoot, Kim McElroy, Kristen Pinkston, Emma Whitehead, Misty Wilburn.  Lisa McAdams and Linda Miller are members of the Preceptor Upsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, and have helped Eta Rho tremendously in making this new fundraiser and community event a success!

Eta Rho, Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi is a non-profit women's organization.  It is comprised of young, local women who raise money with fundraisers like Dresses for Dreams, to enable them to be able to give back to the community.  Eta Rho also gives a scholarship each year in memory of Jenny Malory Wright.
