Driver Life-Flighted from Single-Vehicle Crash

September 7, 2015 - The driver involved in a single-vehicle crash on Saturday, September 6, 2015 was life-flighted as a result of injuries received during the incident.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) State Trooper Dustin Ramos, at 4:16pm a white 2002 Chevrolet Impala was traveling southeast on CR 2468 when the vehicle left the roadway to the right. The driver over corrected left and crossed both lanes of traffic before leaving the road on the opposite side, as the Impala traveled off the side of the road, it struck a small tree and came to rest facing northwest.

Upon arrival, of DPS and Shelby County Sheriff's Deputy Adam Renfro, the driver was unresponsive and showed signs of possible intoxication. Due to possible injury he was transported by ACE EMS to a landing zone where he was life-flighted by Flight For Life to Good Shepherd in Longview.

The identity of the driver was undeterminable at the time of the crash investigation; however, the vehicle is registered to a Regelio Martinez of Center who was not necessarily the driver. Further information will be provided as it is made available.
