June 21, 2016 - Local law enforcement and emergency personnel including the Center Fire Department honored Phil Hennigan, Sr. during his funeral procession on Monday, June 20, 2016.
The Center Fire Department staged their ladder truck featuring the American flag hanging from the ladder as the procession passed through Loop 500 on State Highway 87. Hennigan worked for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department and was later employed with the Center Police Department from 1995 -2012 where he retired as a Sergeant. He was a Peace officer for over 40 years. Fellow police officers and Center firemen lined the Loop 500 intersection as the procession passed through.
Included in the motorcade were several motorcycles with American flags on them.
