Emergency Responders Locate Injured Hunter

November 8, 2018 - Emergency personnel were searching for the location of a hunter Wednesday, November 8, 2018 that was reported to have been injured.

The Center Fire Department was dispatched to the scene on CR 1006 (City Lake Road) south of Center at 6:18pm to the Mill Creek Hunting Club.

Due to deep mud, rescuers had to travel on foot around 300 yards into a wooded area to reach the man who is reported to have fallen from a deer stand. As the hunter's truck was already part of the way into the woods, ambulance personnel were able to walk him to his truck where he was then driven out.

The hunter was taken from the scene by ambulance to Nacogdoches Medical Center - Shelby Emergency Department for treatment.

Center Fire Department firemen returned to the station at 7:20pm.

Additional units on scene included Texas Game Wardens, and Shelby County Sheriff's Department deputies.
