Err at Intersection Results in "Airgas" Truck Collision

August 2, 2017 - A vehicle crash at the intersection of Nacogdoches Street and Hurst Street in Center was reported to be in part due to the error of a liquefied gas truck driver Tuesday, August 1, 2017.

When the Center Police Department arrived, several ACE EMS ambulances were on scene and EMS were evaluating those involved in the crash.

According to Center Police Officer Brian Wright, at 5:30pm a Toyota Camry SE driven by Jamie Fausett 55, with passenger William Themis, 28, both of Center was traveling westbound on Nacogdoches Street preparing to cross Hurst Street.

At that time, a white Freightliner owned by Airgas hauling a trailer meant to carry liquefied gas and driven by Kelvin Wallace, 60, of Kentucky was southbound on Hurst Street. When Wallace traveled through the red light at the intersection the Freightliner struck the Camry on the passenger side of the car.

No injuries were reported of anyone involved in the crash. No citations have been issued at this time.
