December 28, 2015 - The Shelbyville Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a trailer house fire on CR 2024 on Monday, December 28th at 2:35pm and arrived on scene to see a home fully engulfed in flames. The trailer house belonged to Martell Moore.
Although the home was lost, responding firemen Chris Koltonski and Keith Windham began trying to extinguish the flames to prevent it from spreading to any other nearby homes or structures. Due to the recent amount of rain, the fire truck could not be driven close to the burning house making it where fire hose had to be pulled across the soft ground in order to dampen the already destroyed home. Family on scene helped the firemen pull the hose.
The fire department left the scene at 3:45pm and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
